This is the first course in a two-course sequence: MAT 140/141. MAT 140 is an introduction to single variable Differential Calculus, with a review of the relevant topics from algebra and precalculus integrated into the course. In particular, limits and derivatives are introduced as tools used to analyze the behavior of algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions. We will cover Chapters 1-5 and parts of 7-9 of the text. Placement by the math department or a passing grade in MAT 110 is prerequisite for enrollment.
